View Only Documents

I have some documents that I would like to make 'view only'. I would like to remove the 'send to' option on the drop down. Some documents have 'control numbers and can not printed by just anyone. We are using MOSS for our Intranet. Hope someone can help.

Thanks,

Frank

You can change the permissions on them manually.

You can move them into a folder that has the permission level of View Only for everyone.

You can dynamically change the permission level of users for each document by using a workflow. this can be done without code using SharePoint Designer.

You can move them to a doc lib with permissions set to View Only.

I created a new 'Permission' level call View Only. I couldn't get it to work. I created a new folder with one document and using my 'test' user I couldn't view the folder.

So your test user has "View Only" permissions on the folder but can't see the folder.  I would probably need to see that.

It was a simple fix, just had to rename the library and it worked.

Rename the library?  What did that "fix"?

Sorry, wrong fix. It was another issue I was having. The other issue was using 'This Week in Pictures' web part.
